Meet Dr. Jessica O’Leary

Hi! I’m Dr. Jessica O’Leary (she/her) and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY 32981, California), a former middle school teacher, and a bilingual (English/Spanish) Argentinean-American.

I graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University, where I received a B.A. in Child Development and Sociology. I continued my academic career with a M.A. and Teaching Credential in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University, and both a M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Clark University. I completed my Predoctoral Internship and Postdoctoral Fellowship at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, where I specialized in trauma-informed care and adoption-sensitive therapy.

In addition to providing evidence-based therapy and diagnostic evaluations in my private practice, I currently teach and supervise psychology trainees at UCLA’s Stress, Trauma and Resilience (STAR) Clinic. I also lead trainings for families and mental health professionals through UCLA TIES For Families, an interdisciplinary program dedicated to optimizing the growth and development of foster/adoptive children from birth to young adulthood. Recent training topics have included Infant Mental Health, Transracial Adoption, Disenfranchised Grief, and Special Considerations for Adoptive Parents of Children with Special Needs.

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, going to the beach, exercising, and taking on creative projects, ranging from arts & crafts to interior design and event planning.
